The La-Ti-Dah's
Young Women in Harmony
The La-Ti-Dahs! is a Young Women In Harmony chorus that began in 2006. Under the direction of Michelle Hunget, tenor of Zing!, 2010 Sweet Adelines International Quartet Champions, these girls are learning the skills, joy and rewards of performing and singing four-part harmony, barbershop style. The La-Ti-Dahs! is sponsored by the Kansas City Chorus of Sweet Adelines International. They perform on the annual Holiday Harmony Spectacular with the Kansas City Chorus and the Heart of America mens’ chorus of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The girls sang the National Anthem at the opening session for the League of Kansas Municipalities for an audience of over 600 members, including the Mayor of Overland Park. They have performed at area nursing homes and take part in Harmony Explosion, an annual competition and performance event for young barbershoppers held at Olathe East High School. This year 4 on the Floor, a quartet from the La-Ti-Dahs! captured gold medals in Harmony Explosion!Young Women in Harmony delivers both musical excellence and education while it gives young women a taste of show business. This program provides educational tools to teach young women singers the joy of performing this unique American vocal music art form.
