KCC wins big in Snake Saturday Parade
The Kansas City Chorus marched in the Snake Saturday parade in North Kansas City on March 16. The parade theme was "Irish Root and Cowboy Boots". Despite a very cold day, our members showed up and proudly walked the parade route. We were rewarded with 5th place and a prize of $2000! Thanks to all who participated, can't wait until next year! Kansas City Chorus performs at World Harmony Jamboree
BARBERSHOP HARMONY SOCIETY’S 2011 INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION -- Sweet Adelines International was well represented by the Kansas City Chorus at the World Harmony Jamboree held on July 7 during the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 2011 International Convention. Performing Young and Foolish and Sweet Georgia Brown, the chorus entertained a true barbershop audience at Kansas City’s historic Folly Theatre along with quartets and choruses from around the world.
Kansas City Chorus take part in Harmony Bear Drive The Kansas City Chorus also participated in the Harmony Bear Drive promoted during the BHS 2011 International Convention. Darling stuffed bears were available to purchase at the BHS Harmony Marketplace for donation to Kansas City’s Childrens’ Mercy Hospital. KCC collected and delivered approximately 2500 bears to Childrens’ Mercy on Monday, August 11. KCC is proud to have been asked to participate in this special event and we hope the bears helped make a difference for the children recovering from an illness or injury.
2011 Garee Rogers Recipient
This year's recipient is Kansas City Chorus's very own Barb Patton. Helen Shores presented Barb with the Garee Rogers Award at this years Region 7 regional competition in Overland Park, KS.
