About our director

Stacy Schumacher has been involved in Sweet Adelines literally since birth, attending rehearsals of the JaCoMo (later to become Twin Heritage) chorus with her mother, grandmother and aunt. She became an official member of Sweet Adelines at age eleven when she joined the Blue Valley chorus, which her grandmother was directing at the time.  By the time she joined the Kansas City Chorus at age fourteen, she had been singing in a Sweet Adelines chorus for three years, was a member of a chorus Board of Directors, and a committee chair.

While earning her degree in Music Education at Northwest Missouri State University, Stacy developed her interest in and talent for show Choir
choreography.  She has enjoyed using those skills to help create and teach choreography for the Kansas City Chorus.

Although Stacy began singing with Sweet Adelines as a chorus Lead, she ultimately moved to Baritone and found her niche, both in the chorus and several quartets.  From 2005-2008 she sang Tenor in the Region 7 champion quartet, PRIMO!  Most recently, she has gone back to her roots and is currently singing Lead in the reigning 2011 Region 7 First Place Quartet, Legacy!  Stacy's versatility in voice production gives her a unique perspective in directing and maximizing the vocal talents of the Kansas City Chorus membership.

Stacy is a Music Educator who has taught both elementary and high school choral groups. Presently, she is teaching Kindergarten through Fourth grade elementary music education in the Fort Osage school district, and she is delighted to have the opportunity to share her musical and teaching gifts with the Kansas City Chorus.
